

A peer review process was conducted at the Institute of Natural Sciences at Üsküdar University. As part of the review, the mission, vision, objectives, and strategic goals of 29 graduate programs were examined, with the aim of planning all activities to promote, foster, and continuously improve a culture of quality.

The evaluation process, held at the Üsküdar University Main Campus, was attended by: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Enis Bulak, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences; Dr. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Director of the School of Health Services; Dr. Orkun Kozanoğlu, Assistant Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences; Dr. Selami Varol Ülker, Assistant Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences; Hülya Dündar, Secretary of the Institute of Natural Sciences; and Dr. Özlem Şimşek, Chair of the Quality Commission and Research Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
The program also included academics, representatives from department heads, external stakeholders, alumni, and students.
As part of this, Aslı Yıldırım, a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Sufi Studies who supported the peer review process as a student evaluator, met with students one-on-one and collected their responses to the evaluation questions.


While Dr. Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Director of SHMYO, chaired the peer evaluation process, Dr. Orkun Kozanoğlu, Deputy Director of the Institute, delivered a general informational presentation on the process.
The presentation included comprehensive information on the Institute of Natural Sciences’ educational activities, quality assurance system, and ongoing initiatives.
Participation from academic and administrative stakeholders was ensured
During the evaluation process, which involved multi-stakeholder participation, internal self-evaluations were conducted to address the institute’s strengths and areas for improvement from a holistic perspective.
The peer review process concluded after the evaluation team read the closing statement and a group photo was taken.
