Üsküdar University has once again confirmed its pioneering stance in the field of health. The Medical Biochemistry Laboratory was re-accredited within the scope of ISO 15189:2023 Medical Laboratory Accreditation as a result of the evaluation process carried out by TÜRKAK. With its expert staff and strong infrastructure, Üsküdar University continues to set an example for the sector with its high quality approach in healthcare services.

Times Higher Education (THE), one of the world's most prestigious higher education rating organizations, announced the results of the 2025 Impact Ranking, which measures the global impact and sustainability contributions of universities.

Üsküdar University achieved a global success by entering the most elite 25 percentile (Q1) among 2,526 universities worldwide, and managed to enter the top 500 worldwide in 9 of the 17 labels it applied for.

The university ranked first in Turkey among foundation universities that were successful in all 17 labels it applied for.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering departments were accredited by MÜDEK for two years. This important achievement, which reflects the university's quality approach and academic infrastructure, was celebrated with a ceremony. In the program, administrators, academics and students came together and shared the importance of the accreditation process and future goals in detail. MÜDEK, the national quality assurance body recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in Turkey, evaluates the quality of education of engineering programs according to national and international standards.

The conference titled "Sufism as a Quality Control Tool" with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Director General of the Islamic Research Center for History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), was held at NP Health Campus Ibni Sina Auditorium.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "There are common denominators between the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and Sufi teachings. The UN has discovered Sufism."

Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç: "Although there is no connection between Sufism and the economic term "quality" at the beginning, if we build the bridges correctly, we can see the connections. In this regard, we receive gratifying feedback from the studies at the Sufi Institute, which pioneered interdisciplinary studies at Üsküdar University."

Rector Advisor Cemalnur Sargut said, "We are working here to teach ethics even to artificial intelligence. This is an indication of the level of interdisciplinary studies centered on Sufi thought carried out at the Institute."

Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted an important event within the scope of quality assurance in higher education. In the training program held in cooperation with STAR Accreditation Association, a comprehensive information was given on accreditation processes and quality standards carried out in universities.

Üsküdar University ranked in the first quarter of the world's most qualified universities!

Üsküdar University has achieved a great success in the 2025 Impact Rankings of the prestigious ranking organization Times Higher Education (THE) and entered the most elite 25 percentile (Q1) among 2,389 universities worldwide. Üsküdar University, which was entitled to receive all 17 labels it applied for and shared the first place in Turkey, became the only foundation university to achieve this success for the last two years in a row. It climbed 200 places and entered the elite league.

Under the coordination of Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS), student clubs carrying out projects within the scope of the Ministry of Youth and Sports University Student Clubs Support Program (ÜNİDES) came together with Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. During the meeting, the projects carried out throughout the year were evaluated. Tarhan emphasized that prejudices are the biggest obstacle to projects and stated that young people contribute to the future with targeted and visionary projects. Young Minds Academy Director Dr. Nebiye Yaşar stated that students create cultural heritage with their work.

Üsküdar University Sufi Studies Institute organized a seminar titled "Accreditation and Quality Management in Higher Education". Marmara University Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Hande Erol Bingüler was the guest. Erol Bingüler explained the quality assurance processes, the importance of student participation and measurement and evaluation methods. In the event where information about the YÖKAK Student Commission was also given, Üsküdar University's efforts to spread the quality culture were also mentioned.

Turkey's first Science and Idea Festival, organized by Üsküdar University for high schools in cooperation with Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, was held for the 10th time. Students from 56 schools across Istanbul, Bursa, Kocaeli and Yalova applied with 534 projects in teams and the winners of the 10th Science and Idea Festival were awarded.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan said, "I am very hopeful about young people. Young people have embraced their projects with excitement, they have produced ideas. All of them can be useful, projects that can be registered and patented."

The "Career Days'25" event, which has become a traditional event organized by Üsküdar University Career Center Department, attracted great interest from students and graduates this year. Within the scope of the event, where important institutions and organizations from different fields were present, Üsküdar students had the opportunity to closely follow the sectoral developments by visiting the stands that will contribute to their career planning. Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan also visited the stands and met with company officials and students.

Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department (SKS) organized 'International Day' event. In the event where colorful images emerged, students introduced the cultures and richness of different geographies.

Simultaneous Translation Laboratory and Translation Technologies Laboratory were opened within the Department of English Translation and Interpreting at Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The laboratories, where students will receive practical training, are equipped with the technology required by the age. While the simultaneous interpreting laboratory allows students to practice in a professional cabin environment, the translation technologies laboratory offers industry-oriented courses with artificial intelligence-supported translation tools. Speaking at the opening of the laboratories, Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that artificial intelligence cannot replace humans in translation. The laboratories are expected to make significant contributions in terms of providing students with professional skills and academic development.

The Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) Nuclear Technology and Radiation Safety Program and the Career Center Department organized an "Alumni Meeting" event. Üsküdar graduates who have worked in various sectors came together with students online. They shared their professional experiences, the opportunities and challenges they faced in the sector with the students and provided information to those who want to pursue a career in the field.

12 students from Üsküdar University were entitled to participate in the Quality Ambassador Training program for Higher Education Students organized by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).

The results of the Ministry of Youth and Sports University Student Communities and Cooperation Support Program (UNIDES) 2024-2025 4th term results were announced. In this context, 21 student clubs within the Üsküdar University Health, Culture and Sports Department were entitled to receive 1 million 550 thousand TL grant support. The clubs aim to increase the scientific, cultural, social and international impact of the university.
