Fourth project launch meeting was held

The fourth of the Project Launch meetings organized by Üsküdar University R&D and Innovation Policies Directorate was held. Project presentations were made at the meeting held with the participation of senate members and academicians.

The meeting held in the Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall of Üsküdar University Central Campus was attended by Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan and Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, as well as senate members and academicians.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan wished success to the project owners

Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who attended the project launch meeting, said that he liked the projects presented and wished success to the project owners.

Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel made an R&D information presentation

Üsküdar University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel made the opening speeches of the meeting. Ergüzel started his speeches with an R&D information presentation and shared the number of projects of researchers.
Ergüzel; "There is something that attracts our attention this year. When we look at the data taken as of today, our 100-day publication rate is 91. In other words, we continue with approximately 0.9 publications per day on average."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Ensari Özay: "Project applications are very valuable"

Speaking at the meeting, R&D and Innovation Policies Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Ensari Özay talked about the projects of research assistants and lecturers on faculty and department basis.

Emphasizing the momentum of the university in research activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Ensari Özay drew attention to the significant increase in the number of project applications. Özay emphasized that project acceptance processes can take time and that it is necessary to be patient; "It is very valuable to make project applications. Here, it is as important for us that the projects are accepted as it is to make an application. This happens step by step. While some professors can achieve direct success in their first applications, our younger professors progress by gaining experience in this regard. The acceptance rate of our projects has increased in the last 2 years."

Project presentations were made within the scope of the meeting

Üsküdar University Visual Communication Design Department Research. Assist. Simge Kırteke presented her project titled "The Role of Cognitive Neuroscience Tools in Empathic Design Approach, A Case Study on Generation Z within the Framework of Neurodesign Concept".

Üsküdar University Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Filiz Eyüpoğlu introduced her project titled "The Effect of Functional Training of Respiratory Muscles on Diaphragm Function and Core Stabilization in Patients with Chronic Non-Specific Low Back Pain".

Üsküdar University Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (English) Research Assist. Assist. İrem Gülfem Albayrak presented her project titled "Investigation of the Effect of NHE6 Gene Modulation on the Expression of Alzheimer's Related Genes".

Afterwards, BrainPark Incubation Center Entrepreneur Günalp Uysal, Founder of Beezsoft Software Consulting Company, made his presentation. Uysal talked about the "Mobile NST Device" project, which they aim to develop because the NST devices in hospitals are uncomfortable. Uysal also underlined that they aim to take part in TÜBİTAK projects.

Sapling certificate was given

After the project presentations were made, psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar University, gave sapling certificates to the project owners.

Afterwards, R&D and Innovation Policies Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Ensari Özay presented the activities of R&DEYEP Executive Board.

The launch meeting ended with a collective photo shoot after the participants' questions were answered.
