Rectorate Handover Ceremony was held at Üsküdar University...

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör became the new rector of Üsküdar University. Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör was appointed as the rector of Üsküdar University according to the Official Gazette decision published on March 14, 2023. With the decision of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 12 university rector appointments were made. According to the official decision published in the Official Gazette, Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Dean of the Faculty of Communication, was appointed as the Rector of Üsküdar University, which was founded by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan in 2011. Prof. Dr. Güngör, known for her books and articles that shape the field of communication, became the first female rector of Üsküdar University. Üsküdar University Rectorate Handover ceremony was held at Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall with the participation of academic and administrative staff. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, whose term of office expired, handed over his position to the new Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör.

Üsküdar University continues to strengthen the work of the Social Contribution Coordinatorship, which was established in line with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in order for universities to actively support social development. The 2nd Consultation Meeting brought together representatives of academia, public and civil society. In this context, it was pointed out that Üsküdar University is the university that produces the most entrepreneurs in Turkey. Üsküdar District Governor Adem Yazıcı, who attended the meeting, emphasized that the issue of social contribution is very important. Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Founding Rector of Üsküdar University, underlined that the family is the last refuge against the onslaught of modernism and that the second biggest danger is addiction. Prof. Tarhan also stated that the aim of the Coordinatorship is to prevent problems in society before they grow by involving students.

Üsküdar strengthens its administrative staff with artificial intelligence trainings

Üsküdar University Personnel Department and Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Software Engineering Department organized a comprehensive 3-week artificial intelligence training for senior administrative staff within the scope of digital transformation vision. In the trainings organized, the basic concepts of artificial intelligence, application areas in universities and various artificial intelligence tools were discussed. The workshops held within the scope of the training focused on visualization and interpretation.
