Üsküdar University is a higher education institution that has determined its mission and vision in line with the principles of libertarianism, pluralism, criticism and participation, taking into account the quality assurance system of higher education. In line with this understanding, it is aimed to use the resources of the university with a correct and realistic planning in line with the needs, to plan the fields of activity in a way that overlaps with the realities of society and the country, and to transform the knowledge produced into useful products, technology and services. In order to realize these goals in the shortest time and with maximum efficiency, it is important to adopt a university understanding that is entrepreneurial, competitive on a global scale, but at the same time interacting with stakeholders and adopting the autonomous university model. Üsküdar University is a higher education institution that has started its five-year new period strategic plan studies with this understanding.
Üsküdar University 2024-2028 Strategic Plan is based on the mission and vision of the university and the principles of pluralism, participation, libertarianism and criticism that form the basis for its establishment. It is aimed to determine the fields of activity of the university in line with these basic principles, mission and vision, to use resources effectively by taking priorities into account and to develop accountability responsibility for the process.
In addition, with the strategic plan it will prepare, our university will strive to differentiate from other institutions (universities) in similar fields of activity. This differentiation effort will be in the form of a struggle to be preferred with more qualified service provision, rather than a competitive or superiority understanding. For this purpose, in the strategic plan study of our university, points such as continuous improvement of quality, ensuring that scientific production can respond to social needs, directing education and training in relation to the ethical and moral values of the society, accelerating the internationalization process, and ensuring that the course of the university works in harmony with the course of the world are taken into consideration.
In the preparation process of the strategic plan of Üsküdar University, performance measurements are made in different fields of activity of the university, weak, open to development and strong sides are determined in this context, solution proposals are put forward accordingly; taking into account the activity reports prepared by the academic units, detailed analyzes are made on the basis of units and the data regarding the current situation of the university are evaluated in detail. Based on the current situation analysis, the university's 2024-2028 strategic plan study is being carried out.
It is of great importance that the strategic plan of the university is also in harmony with the top policy documents in terms of the realism and applicability of the determined strategies. Accordingly, the 12th Development Plan, Medium Term Program and Strategic Planning Guide for Universities prepared by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, as well as national, regional and sectoral strategy documents concerning universities are taken into consideration in the process of preparing the strategic plan of our university.
Üsküdar University 2024-2028 Strategic Plan preparation process will be carried out in cooperation with the Strategy Development Coordinatorship, General Secretariat, Strategy Development Department, which is established under the chairmanship of the Rector, and all other academic and administrative unit managers within the University will support the process. The Strategy Development Coordinatorship will carry out its work with the active participation of the members of the Strategy Development Board, which was established with the approval of the Rector. The Coordinatorship will ensure the coordination between stakeholders, data management and organization, and the creation of the Strategic Plan text.
I kindly request your information and necessity to carry out the preparation of the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan of our university with meticulousness, care and devotion, to ensure that all personnel in academic and administrative units participate and support the process, and to complete the process within the planned timeframe and with the expected quality.
